Two including JCD leader gunned down in city
Criminals gunned down two young men including a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader while two others received bullet injuries in separate incidents in the city’s Tejgaon and Mahakhali areas. The deceased were identified as Saidur Rahman, Joint Secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, Titumir Government College unit and Mizanur Rahman Mizan (28). The injured are Sabbir (20) and Shawon (22), students of Tejgaon College. Police and hospital sources said, a gang of armed miscreants shot Saidur from a very close range near Mahakhali Wireless Gate Jame Mosque when he came out of the mosque after offering Esha prayer at around 8.30 pm yesterday. The bullet injured was rushed to the local clinic from where he was shifted to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the attending doctors declared him dead. In the second incident, some unidentified criminals fired indiscriminate shots at Mizan in front of Tejgaon College at around 9pm yesterday. As a result three received serious bullet injuries.
